KARL Robinson stressed he needs to see more from Isaac Buckley-Ricketts after hauling the winger off after just 16 minutes.

The Manchester City loanee was named among the substitutes, but an injury to Josh Ruffels saw him come on for Oxford United in the first half against Oldham Athletic.

But he had little impact and Robinson was clearly unhappy with the 20-year-old late in the half when he lost the ball cheaply in midfield.

Buckley-Ricketts, part of the England side which were European champions at under 19 level last year, was then brought off at half-time.

After the 0-0 draw Robinson confirmed the decision was down to performance, rather than an injury or tactical change.

He said: "I’m not here to develop players - I’m here for Oxford United, not Manchester City or anybody else.

"Loan players have to make a difference when they come on.

"So development with loans is your players have to perform.

"If they don’t like what I’m saying I don’t really care, because there were 7,000 people here today who would go to the wall with Oxford United.

"So every player has got to be willing to go with them to the wall, and climb it."

He added: "I had Ezri Konsa and Ademola Lookman who were in that (England) team and I know how good they are and how hard they work."

Buckley-Ricketts has started eight games since joining on loan from City in January.
