Rigg signs for Oxford United

Sean Rigg has become Oxford United’s first signing of the summer after completing a move this morning.

The 23-year-old was offered a new contract at Port Vale, but opted to turn it down and move to the Kassam Stadium on a two-year deal instead.

Rigg, who can play as either a wide midfielder or a striker, scored ten goals for Vale last season, including one in United’s 3-0 defeat at Vale Park on the final day of the season earlier this month.

The former Bristol Rovers trainee made 104 appearances in just under three seasons with Vale.

Great signing! Saw him at vale on last day of the season and he looked a million times better than what we had on show attacking wise that day. Get another 4 or 5 signings in as good as this and we might stand half a chance next sason.

Although I would like to add that as he can play wide and central it looks like we'll be playing 433 again...

Good signing, looked a useful player against us in the last game. Have to think Chappy's heading somewhere else as he's not yet signed. Hope I'm wrong! nasty feeling the delightful ex Crawley manager will get him.

Good signing. I just hope that Wilder doesn't ruin another one of our strikers. Can't somebody teach Wilder how to get the most out of a good striker.

Looks like a great signing but with his goal scoring record we still need a prolific goal scorer...could be a useful player though
