OXFORD United’s Shandon Baptiste will be aiming to finish the season on a high tomorrow.

While the rest of the squad began their summer holidays a week ago, the midfielder still has one big game to play.

Baptiste is on loan at Hampton & Richmond Borough, who host Braintree Town in the Vanarama National League South play-off final.

Baptiste played 90 minutes in the 1-0 semi-final win last Sunday against Chelmsford City, whose line-up included former U’s player Jonny Giles.

United have played a part in the Beavers’ success this season, with Malachi Napa and Sam Long also spending time at the club on loan.

Victory this weekend would cap off an excellent season for Baptiste, 20, who made his U’s debut last August and has also been capped at senior level by Grenada.

In December he signed a new contract, which will keep him at the Kassam Stadium until next summer.
