FACING Oxford United offers struggling Swindon Town the chance to turn their campaign around, according to first-team coach Ross Embleton.

The Robins have won just once in their last ten games in all competitions and could slip into the Sky Bet League One relegation zone before Sunday’s derby.

Swindon tasted defeat to local rivals last weekend when they lost 1-0 at Bristol Rovers.

Embleton admits the campaign has fallen short of pre-season expectations, but knows a derby victory against the U’s would significantly change the mood.

He told the Swindon Advertiser: “I don’t think there’s ever a case of us feeling sorry for ourselves.

“We know it’s been a disappointing season, we know that we haven’t achieved what we all set out to achieve at the start.

“Now we’ve got to make sure we finish the season strongly.

“If we can start to turn it around as soon as possible, being this weekend, then we can start looking up rather than looking down.

“It’s a massive game. Last weekend was a massive game too and ended as a massive disappointment.

“But I think if you hang onto that disappointment, it’s only going to hinder you as you start to look forward to the next game.”
