CHEY Dunkley could be back in contention for Oxford United as early as next weekend.
The centre back’s scan on the right hamstring strain he sustained against Chesterfield last Saturday was inconclusive.
But the U’s medical department are confident after limiting the damage by hastily substituting Dunkley, that the strain is only a grade one, the least serious.
Head coach Michael Appleton said: “I will be surprised if he’s out for more than two weeks.”
With almost one week having elapsed, the centre back may be available by the time Peterborough United visit the Kassam Stadium next Saturday.
