BOWLS: Bicester double up

Bicester notched a double over Kidlington to jump up to second place in Division 2 of the Oxford & District League, sponsored by Yarnton Nurseries Garden Centre.

With the section being really tight, two consecutive 5-1 victories have seen Bicester leap from second bottom into the top two.

Bicester won comfortably on three of the rinks, while John O'Shea's four took the last couple of ends to record Kidlington's consolation point.

Kidlington 57 (1), Bicester 98 (5) (Kidlington skips first): J O'Shea 20, M Workman 18; J Denton 15, A Hall 31; D Snell 10, P Hooley 23; B Horsman 12, J King 26.
