CAPTAIN Abbie Stevens scored her first goal of the season to help Bicester beat Reading Rebels 4-1 and stay top of the table.

But they were forced to do it the hard way as the bottom side in Trysports Three Counties League Division 1 took a shock lead.

Bicester’s frustration began to grow, but their pressure paid off when Beatrice Gunn pounced on a rebound to equalise just before the break.

The second half proved a different story and Alison Haik scrambled home to make it 2-1 to the hosts.

A minute later, it was 3-1 when Stevens fired home.

The skipper then turned provider for Nicolene Willers to score their fourth.

In Division 2, struggling Bicester 2nd are five points adrift at the bottom of the table following a 1-0 defeat to Oxford 5th.

Both sides came close, but it was the visitors who opened the scoring midway through the first half.

Catherine Hawkes thought she had levelled for Bicester, but her effort was ruled out for an earlier infringement.

Bicester’s men beat Henley 2nd 4-2 in Middlesex, Berks, Bucks & Oxon Division 1.

The home side raced into a 3-0 lead inside 20 minutes.

Jamie Inshaw opened the scoring when deflecting home a fine pass from Jordan Chester.

Dave Sutcliffe made it 2-0, finding the top corner from the edge of D after a short corner rebounded to him.

Will Hartley then got in on the act to score Bicester’s third.

Henley reduced the deficit before half-time and made it 3-2 with ten minutes to go.

But Bicester made the points safe when Chester scored their fourth after great work from Hartley.
