THERE were no half-measures as Bicester recorded their first South League victory of the season with a 10-0 thrashing of Ashford 2nd at The Cooper School.

Dave Sutcliffe led the rout with a hat-trick in the one-sided Middlesex, Berks, Bucks & Oxon Division 1 encounter.

The hosts opened the scoring, Ollie Hartley diving to convert a pinpoint cross from Sutcliffe.

Goals then began to flow with Ben Kirk scoring a one-on-one, Will Hartley netting after a strong run down the left, and Jamie Inshaw getting his first for the club with a delightful reverse-stick finish.

A fifth was added just before half-time when, Sutcliffe deflected in from an Inshaw crash ball into the D.

Sutcliffe added his second just after the break and completed his hat-trick. with a deflection from an Andy Brown shot.

Ollie Hartley doubled his tally with a tap in at the back post and Kirk scored his second after rounding the Ashford goalkeeper.

The tenth and final goal was scored by Leo Graves after some strong work from Will Hartley.

Bicester travel to Ramgharia on Saturday looking to build on their excellent performance.

l Bicester Ladies returned to winning ways in Trysports Three Counties Division 1 with a 4-1 success against Oxford 4th.

Pushing forward at every opportunity, Bicester took the lead with a neat deflection from Beth Forrest.

The lead was soon doubled through Nicolene Willers after some good link-up play from Beatrice Gunn.

Not wanting a repeat of the previous week, when they let slip a lead, Bicester kept their foot on the gas and top-scorer Alison Haik got on the scoreboard after a well-worked short corner routine.

The second half was more evenly contested with Oxford frustrating the Bicester forward line.

A quick counter-attack from Bicester saw Forrest grab her second goal before Oxford grabbed a late consolation.
