SAM White was Bicester AC’s star performer at the UK Youth Development League Midlands North East meeting at Nuneaton.

One of only three Bicester athletes competing in the under 15 boy’s events, White set two personal bests while achieving a sprint win double.

His time of 12.30secs in the 100 metres was a grade 4 clocking, with clubmate Callum Hewett was second in the B string with pb of 13.10s.

White also recorded a best time in the 200 metres of 25.4. This time Bicester achieved a double first as Joseph Rayner won the B event (26.3).

White then came second in the 300m.

Bicester’s other win in the age group saw Rayner triumphing in the long jump with a leap of 4.98m.

In the under 13 boys competition, Samuel Rayner cemented his 26th place in the national rankings by winning the 75m hurdles in a pb of 13.20.

Ben Groves took the long jump with a pb of 4.26m, in addition to the high jump.

Amber Parker broke her own under 15 girls’ club record with a winning national throw of 26.01m. She was also second in the discus (20.08m) and third in the shot (7.02m).

Another win came from Millie Couzens who triumphed easily in the 1500 metres (5.28). The only Bicester win in either string of the girl’s under 13 events was from Innes Paiget-Thompson in the B shot.

Paiget-Thompson was also third in the 800 metres.

  • David Kuester, of Bicester AC and Oxford City AC Veterans, won gold in the M70 age group at the MMTG British Throws Decathlon Championships in Derby He achieved this feat with personal best total of 4,470 points.
