DAVE Sutcliffe’s hat-trick helped Bicester to a dominant 6-2 victory over Ashford 2nd in Middlesex, Berks, Bucks & Oxon Division 1.

Will Hartley (2) and Jordan Chester were also on the scoresheet as the home side, who sit third, continued their promotion push.

Sutcliffe opened the scoring after ten minutes, converting a short corner which initially broke down but eventually reached him just a few yards out.

Bicester continued to press and Hartley made it 2-0, pulling off a difficult finish above his head, after a firm pass from Jeffrey Elliott was deflected goalwards by Adam Drewitt.

The hosts made it 3-0 soon after the break when Hartley linked with Sutcliffe to go through one-on-one with the goalkeeper and fire home.

Ashford pulled one back, but Bicester soon restored their three-goal advantage, thanks to Chester, who finished off a short corner via a deflection.

Chester was also involved in the fifth as, after a brilliant drive down the left, his ball across the face of goal was finished by Sutcliffe.

The latter completed his hat-trick, when he finished superbly from a tight angle after good work from Elliott.

Ashford replied to make it 6-2 as Bicester closed the game out.

The north Oxfordshire side are next in action when they travel to Henley 2nd on Saturday.
