A SUPERB late goal from Matt Wood gave Oxford Hawks a hard-earned 3-2 victory away to London Edwardians.

The result means that Hawks are placed third at the half-way stage of the South League Premier Division 1 campaign, just five points behind leaders Bromley & Beckenham.

The visitors were grateful to resolute keeper Chris Price in a goalless first half, where Ted Bennett and Tom Godding wasted golden chances at the other end.
