BICESTER tasted victory and raised more than £300 for charity in their annual mixed match against Sonning.
A 4-2 victory on the pitch was followed by a pie tasting competition at the Hundred Acres pub in Hart Place.
Great Britain hockey’s team manager Andy Halliday was as a judge, with Bicester winning by half a point.
The pies were eaten for donations and coupled with the match fees after Cherwell District Council reduced the pitch hire fee for the day, £337 was raised for military charity Hockey for Heroes.
