ATHLETICS: Nicola Faulkner led the way for Alchester as the north Oxfordshire club hosted the Candleford Canter Ladies 10k.
She finished in fifth place in a time of 43mins 31secs, just under two minutes behind winner Rebecca Ferry, of Oxford City.
Alchester’s Wendy Hunter came home in 11th, while clubmate Edwina Colclough also made the top 20, crossing 16th.
Jacky Pinnock was the second vet 55 runner home in 22nd overall.
GOLF: Kirtlington’s Gregor McKenzie has been included in the England golf under 16 regional squad for the 2016/17 training programme.
The 15-year-old is following in the footsteps of US Masters champion Danny Willett and is one of seven boys selected for the Thames Valley squad.
