ADAM Drewitt starred with a hat-trick as Bicester began their South League campaign in fine style with a 6-1 victory at OMT.
The opening day win sees them sit second in the Middlesex, Berks, Bucks & Oxon Division 1.
Bicester started strongly and good play from Ian Oak and Will Hartley led to Jonny Reid opening the scoring.
Drewitt then took centre stage, finding the net twice in the space of two minutes.
His first followed more good play from Oak, while Hartley laid on the assist for Drewitt’s second and Bicester’s third.
OMT pulled a goal back before the break, but Reid made it 4-1 early in the second half, firing high into the net.
Drewitt then completed his hat-trick, before Hartley added a sixth.
Bicester Ladies 4th beat Abingdon 3rd 4-1 in Division 6 of the Trysports Three Counties Hockey League.
Despite going behind, Hayley Collier scored a hat-trick for Bicester, while Georgina Strong was also on the scoresheet to earn victory.
