CRICKET: Torrential rain and thunderstorms wreaked havoc over the weekend with only a handful of matches reaching a conclusion.

In the OCA League, Joe Leonard (52no) and Stuart Leonard (50no) starred as Marsh Gibbon racked up an impressive ten-wicket victory at home to Broughton & North Newington to keep alive their hopes of avoiding the drop from Division 2.

Only one match survived in the Cherwell League, with Bicester & North Oxford 2nd beating Chearsley 2nd by seven wickets.

ATHLETICS: Sarah Rendell led the way for Alchester at the Headington 5, finishing 52nd and third vet 35 in a time of 32mins 31 secs.

Claire Court and Olivia Underhill also competed, helping the ladies team finish fourth.

Vincente Bayliss was the club’s first male in 77th.

HOCKEY: Olympic gold medallist Crista Cullen will be at Bicester Hockey Club on Saturday.

The Great Britain player is the star name at ‘HockeyFest’, which aims to encourage the community to try out the sport.

The event starts at 11.30am on Saturday, with junior club day from 9am on Sunday.
