BICESTER Pony Club are riding high after winning an area Grassroots Inter-branch show jumping competition.
Their four young riders – Clara Petrillo, Helena Pryce, Olivia Mossman and Charlotte Rudge – beat off competition from 26 teams over three rounds at Great Missenden in Buckinghamshire.
The youngsters kept their cool in the timed jump off to ride the fastest team time and qualify for the regional competition at Keysoe, Bedfordshire, in September.
Three other Bicester teams also competed on the day.
The junior team, comprising Sadie Lloyd, Nancy Simpson, Rafe Gordon and Susie Dolan performed well.
The two novice squads of Katie Robinson, Lucinda Oakey, Eloise Burden and Isabella Smith, plus Katie Leach, Sasha White, Connie Adams and Iris Petrillo took on tough competition from more than 20 teams to secure a third and sixth places respectively.
