RISING star Lottie Wynne-Jones was extremely proud to represent her country at the Energy Standard Cup in Italy.
The Bicester Blue Fins swimmer, 12, was the youngest member of the 50-strong England team selected to compete at Lignano last weekend.
Wynne-Jones, competing in a combined age group with girls up to 18 months older, finished sixth in the 50m and 200m butterfly events.
She was also seventh in the 100m butterfly as England finished third overall.
The youngster, who also took part in the opening ceremony, said: “I was so proud to be picked to swim for my country and to be part of a squad with so many fantastic swimmers.
“I loved the races but it was also great to get coaching on my skills and be part of the England team.”
The event in Italy was part of the third phase of the England Talent Programme, designed to nurture potential Olympic swimmers.
