Three young Bicester teams were group winners when the club hosted the Junior Fox Festival.

A total of 37 teams from seven clubs took part across under 8, 10 and 12 age groups.

In the under 10 age group, Bicester had an excellent run of results, winning one of two groups and finishing second to Thame A in the other.

Goals were scored by Finlay Weedon, Isaac Findlay and Kieran Matthews. Keeper Flora McCullogh conceded only one goal in five games.

Bicester’s B and C teams claimed honours in two of the under 12 groups, while their A team came runners-up in the other.

The club are looking forward to competing in the Oxon junior tournament at Bloxham this weekend.

l Bicester ladies suffered a 9-0 defeat at home to leaders Reading in the Trysports Three Counties League Premier Division.

The hosts trailed 7-0 at the break, but were able to stem the flow in the second half, thanks to a strong performance from Hannah Newell.
