BICESTER came from behind to inflict only a second South League defeat on Tring in 50 games with a 3-2 away win in Middlesex, Berks, Bucks & Oxon Division 1.

Their hero was Callum White, who scored two goals on his debut.

In an eventful game which included two penalty flicks, it was somehow goalless at half-time.

This was due to the penalty flick saving heroics of Nathan Elliott and to some wasteful finishing from Bicester.

But the second half proved to be full of action, as White put Bicester ahead following some impressive work by Jordan Chester.

Tring soon equalised with a top-corner drag flick.

And the hosts were then controversially awarded a penalty after the ball was stopped on the line by Bicester’s Andy Brown, with some doubt as to whether the shot was goalbound.

The penalty sneaked under Elliott’s pads, only for the umpire to disallow the goal due to double movement by the flick taker.

Tring, riled by their sense of injustice, piled on the pressure and soon took the lead following a mazy run and deft finish.

However, Bicester refused to give in and battled on, with White soon equalising with a powerful drag flick of his own.

Pushing for a winner, Bicester won a short corner following tricky play by Ben Kirk, and Dave Sutcliffe finishing with aplomb.

In Division 6, Nick Styles, Will Hartley and Luke Smith scored as Bicester 3rd beat Wycombe 4th 3-0.

Meanwhile, Bicester Ladies lost 4-1 against Sonning in the Trysports Three Counties Premier League.

After taking an early lead through an Abi Stevens strike, Bicester suffered a number of injuries with two players being forced to leave the field.

Their hosts scored two goals either side of half time to secure victory.
