BICESTER Ladies twice came from behind to record their first win in eight games with a 3-2 victory against Oxford 2nd in the Trysports League Premier 1.
Oxford took an early lead through Bubble Baddeley before a strike from Bicester’s Sheryl Philpott brought the scores level.
Laura Wilkinson restored Oxford’s lead just before the break.
But second-half goals from Lorraine Brickell and Gina Girvan secured all three points and lifted Bicester out of the drop zone.
Meanwhile, Bicester’s men got back to winning ways with a 6-2 victory at home to Wycombe in Middlesex, Berks, Bucks & Oxon Division 1 of the South League.
Dave Sutcliffe (2), Rob Blackie, Jonny Reid, Will Hartley and Ben Kirk scored Bicester’s goals, while Nathan Elliott made an excellent debut in goal.
The hosts led 2-0 at the interval thanks to goals at either end of the first half from Sutcliffe and Blackie.
The second half was far less comfortable after Bicester lost centre back Andy Brown.
Sutcliffe and Reid scored for Bicester, but Wycombe hit back each time.
They threatened to make the game even tighter from a few short corners which Elliot did well to save, before Bicester closed the game out with goals from Hartley and Kirk.
Other results: Bicester 4th 7 (J Winspear 4, P Winspear 2, S McKenna), Thame 3rd 4.
Bicester Under 12s won their pool in the Banbury Festival, scoring 16 goals.
Their leading scorers were Ben Bell (8) and Alex Birtles (6).
Bicester Under 10A won four out of their matches, George Mallam netting six goals including a hat-trick.
