Italian Umberto Accornero, 17, passed his DVLA driving test on Saturday, before finishing his first gravel rally the following day in the Greystoke Stages in Cumbria for the Bicesterbased Major Motorsport team.
Accornero’s teammate Ian Barnes competed in his second rally of the year, the Nicky Grist Stages, based in Builth Wells, Wales in his Mk1 Historic Escort.
He finished 92nd overall and ninth in class.
The result places him sixth overall and third in class in the Welsh Historic Championship.
