Andrew Stickley was the first Alchester runner home in the third round of the Oxfordshire Mota-Vation series at Combe.

He crossed the line 17th in a time of 22.19 in the race, which was won by Steve Naylor (Bedford & County) in 19.51.

Stickley’s teammate James Pither was 20th in 22.34.

Shaun O’Gorman (V40) was 28th in 23.10, with Sam Usher (V35) the first Alchester woman in 24.47.

Meanwhile, Alchester A team finished seventh in the in the Ridgeway Relay in a combined time of 10.43.12.

The event, which was won by Oxford City (9.24.03), involves a ten-leg relay race from Ivinghoe Beacon in Buckinghamshire to Marlborough in Wiltshire.

Meanwhile, Millie Couzens celebrated a treble as Bicester AC finished second at the Heart of England League Division 3 meeting at Tilsley Park in Abingdon.

She began her success by winning the under 13 girls’ 200m (30.7sec), before winning the 70m hurdles (13.5) and the high jump (1.20m).

Amelia Cox set a personal best in winning the 1500m (5.36.6) and leapt 3.66m to win the B-string long jump with 3.66m, with Rushani Arumugham taking the A event with an effort of 4.06m.

Holly Griffiths Brown won both the under 15 300m (44.6) as well as the long jump title (4.66).

There was a double for Bicester in the under 17/20 long jump, with Emily Benfield winning the A string event (4.59m) and Yolande Martin the B string (4.29m).

That was matched in under 15 boys’ event, with Oscar Honour taking the A string (4.55m) and Tom Couzens winning the B string event (4.52m).

Oscar Honour was also first in the shot put (8.24m), while Charlotte Kavanagh triumphed in the under 11 girls’ long jump with a leap of 3.58m.
