Bicester youngster Bobby Hornby won the prestigious nine & under grade two summer national tour event in Winchester.

Hornby landed the title after beating Hertfordshire’s Theo McIlvenna 5-7, 7-4, 7-2 in the final.

Earlier, he beat Lorenzo Rotondi 7-4, 5-7, 7-3, before defeating McIlvenna 7-2, 7-5 and Ewan Baker 7-5, 6-8, 7-5 in the group stages.

Hornby then saw off Alex Blisset from Somerset in the quarter-finals 5-7, 7-1, 7-2.

That was followed by a 7-2, 8-10, 7-4 victory in the semi-finals against Surrey’s Kai-Luca Ampaw to reach the final.
