Bicester Blue Fins’ Kieran Bird won four gold medals in the final weekend of the ASA South Regional Championships in Crawley.

It saw the club take their tally over the three rounds to 15 gold medals.

Bird broke the club record in the age 16 200m individual medley in 2mins 12.81secs.

He was also successful in the 100m and 200m butterfly and the 200m freestyle events, while also setting age group records in 100m freestyle and 100m breaststroke.

Tom Thornley landed silver in both the 50m and 100m backstroke in the age 16 category.

In the girls age 16 category, Ellie Falkner set a new age group record in both the 200m freestyle and 200m individual medley events, while also qualifying for the 200m butterfly final.

Sinead Vine-Nealon recorded club age group records in the age 15 100m and 200m backstroke events, while also equalling the club’s best time in the 50m freestyle.

Joe Walker also set a club age group record in the age 17 and over 200m breaststroke, while Courtney Best was just two hundredths of a second from an overall club record in the age 16 50m freestyle.
