Bicester Blue Fins Lottie Wynne-Jones scooped an amazing eight gold medals at the first weekend of the ASA South East Regional Championships in Crawley.

They are on track to beat the 11 golds they won in last year’s competition, with two weekends left.

Competing in the age 11/12 category, her wins in the 50m, 100m and 200m butterfly were Bicester club records, but, subject to ratification, are also South East Regional age group marks.

She is also claiming regional all-time best times in the 50m and 100m backstroke, also in club age group record times.

Wynne-Jones’s 200m backstroke win was also an overall club record, and her 100m and 200m freestyle victories also broke Bicester’s age group records.

She also broke the overall club record in the heat of the 200m individual medley, qualifying fastest for the final, but decided to withdraw in order to focus on other events.

In her tenth event, the 50m freestyle, she broke her own club age group record and missed the podium by just four hundredths of a second.

Maddy Powell won silver in both the 200m freestyle and 200m butterfly.

Tabitha Watkins won silver in the 50m breaststroke, before striking bronze in the 200m breaststroke and backstroke.
