Holly Griffiths Brown’s victory in the 300m helped Bicester AC to second at the first Heart of England League Division 3 match at Banbury, writes Jack Johnson.

Under 15 competitor Griffiths Brown was close to the club record as she won the event by three seconds.

Teammate Millie Couzens was also victorious as she set a personal best in winning the under 13 70m hurdles in 13.6secs.

Tom Couzens continued his fine form by taking the under 15s boys long jump with a leap of 4.63m.

Connor Wilce kept up his consistent performances as he won the under 17 event, before finishing second in the 200m.

Jess Cherry claimed the under 17s girls shot, while Hayden Durrant won the under 13 high jump.

There was double joy for Ben Groves who won both the under 11 long jump and 75m titles.

In the under 11 B string 70m race, Sam Rayson clocked 11.5secs to cross the line first.

Meanwhile, Alchester's Samantha Usher finished as the second Vet 35 female runner at Sunday’s Oxford Town & Gown 10K.

Usher crossed the line in 80th place overall and in a time of 39mins 43secs.

Her clubmate Jon Burgess was the first V60 male athlete home in 106th place, crossing the line in 40.47.

Shaun O’Gorman was Alchester’s leading runner as he crossed in 37.48 to finish 52nd.
