Bicester AC’S Amy Gould won the best girl performer at the club’s winter awards evening at the Highfield Club.

Her successful season culminated in winning the under-13 girls’ competition in the Oxford Mail Cross Country League.

She won a silver medal in the county championships and combined with Holly Griffiths Brown and Molly Acton to finish second in the team competition. She also represented her county in the Inter County Cross Country Championships.

Gould was Oxfordshire’s best finisher in the under-13 girls’ race in the national finals.

The best boy accolade went to Freddie Taylor whose finishes in league competition gave him bronze in the boys’ under-11 standings.

Imogen Cox was best under 11 junior female after winning gold in the county championships.

Her sister Amelia’s third place in the final of the under 11 girls’ race in the Oxford Mail League was voted most improved performer.

Meanwhile, Bicester's David Kuester won six medals in the 70+ age group at the Midland British Masters Throwerama in Derby.

The veteran won the discurama (discus throws), speerorama (javelintype shot), Schockorama (discustype shot) and the biathlon and finished runner-up in the shotorama (shot).
