Bicester Ladies went down 2-1 at Aylesbury in the Trysports League Premier Division 1 on Saturday.

Aylesbury piled on the pressure from the first whistle, but Bicester applied some of their own, though they were unable to make it count.

Aylesbury took the lead shortly before half-time.

In the second half, Bicester could not prevent Aylesbury from adding a second.

But Bicester came back with a well-constructed goal.

Lorraine Brickell and Lydia Harris combined before setting up Alison Haik, who smashed the ball into the right corner of the net.

However, despite their efforts they could not find an equaliser.

Bicester 2nd went down to a 4-2 defeat at Newbury & Thatcham 2nd in Trysports Three Counties League Division 2.

The visitors started slowly and were made to pay when Newbury strolled into a 2-0 lead.

But Bicester did not drop their heads and continued to attack though their efforts went unrewarded.

Fiona Warland pulled off some excellent saves, but Newbury kept up the pressure and made it 3-0 just before half time.

Bicester came out strongly after the break and clawed one back.

A short corner found Jan Southam whose pass allowed Shannon Cameron to find the net through the keeper’s legs.

They were right back in the contest when they got a second goal.

Maddie Smith tipped Charlie Humphries’ shot past the keeper.

But their comeback hopes ended when Bicester conceded a fourth goal.

Julie Giles scored a firsthalf winner for Bicester 3rd in a 1-0 success away to Witney 3rd in Division 6.
