Alchester’s Sarah Rendell was ninth in the senior women’s race in the third round of the Oxford Mail Cross Country League at Culham.

She finished in 27mins 25secs to go third in the vet 35 standings in the event which was staged in conjunction with the Oxfordshire cross country championships.

Michelle Pank was 14th in 28.07 to leave her ninth in the senior women’s standings.

Richard Gould was the first Alchester man home in the senior race. The vet 40 crossed the line in 34.49 in 40th, with Andy Stickley (34.57) 47th.

Bicester AC’s Tom Gould qualified for the inter-county championships in Birmingham after finishing 12th in the combined under 15/17 race.

He crossed the line in 19.44.

Amy Gould finished second in the under 13 girls, tackling the 2000m course in 10mins 12 secs, to take silver in the county competition and win another county vest.

It put her second on the individual standings.

Holly Griffiths Brown earned her first country vest after finishing seventh (10.37).

Tom Couzens was ninth in the under 13 race in 10.17, while Freddie Taylor was second in the under 11 boys, completing the 1200m course in 4.06.

Imogen Cox struck gold in the under nine county race and was sixth in the combined race, while Harry Rendell was fifth in the boys race.
