Bicester men kept up their good run in Middx, Berks, Bucks & Oxon Division 1 with a 4-1 victory at home to Oxford 3rd in a game switched to Kidlington because their home pitch at Cooper School was frozen.
Adapting quickly to the slow surface, Bicester charged into a 3-0 lead inside 15 minutes.
Ian Oak got the first after some slick Bicester passing and Dave Sutcliffe bagged a brace.
The game stayed at 3-0 until the last ten minutes when Bicester added a fourth through Luke Smith.
Oxford pulled one back through Rich Oakes, but the damage was done.
Bicester 2nd’s promotion charge suffered a blow as they went down to a 2-1 defeat at Wallingford 3rd in Division 8.
They started the stronger and took the lead on 20 minutes when Dave Hinchliffe charged out of defence before feeding Roy Carter, who touched home with a deft finish.
Wallingford pushed hard and 15 minutes from time they levelled.
Five minutes from time, Bicester’s misery was completed when Wallingford grabbed the winner.
