Bicester Blue Fins celebrated four victories and two second places as they finished fourth at the six-monthly Amersham Novice Gala last weekend.
Twenty-two of the club’s junior swimmers were put to the test.
Bicester’s under 10 boys were in scintillating form, securing all four of the club’s wins.
Harry Wynne-Jones and Zac Powell swam up an age category and combined with Freddy Bunce and Matthew Cooper to win the 4x25m freestyle relay by a clear two seconds, followed by victory in the 4x25m medley relay on the final touch.
In the individual races, Freddy Bunce stormed the boys’ under 10 50m freestyle to win by two seconds in a personal best of 38.03secs.
Wynne-Jones then won the boys’ under 9 25m butterfly in 18.60.
The under 10 4x25m medley team of Maddie Neal, Millie Houston, Olivia Warfolk and Charlotte Kemp finished second.
Kemp then joined the under 11 4x25m freestyle team with Molly Ward, Lauren McKenzie and Charlotte Hiles as they finished runners-up.
Olivia Jordan, Wynne-Jones, Charlotte Kemp, Bunce, Ward and William Pluckrose finished third in the 6x25m mixed squadron freestyle relay team.
