Ella West scored a double as Bicester ladies edged to a 3-2 victory at Aylesbury in Trysports Three Counties League Premier 1.

The visitors went ahead in the opening minute when West weaved her way through the defence before firing past a stunned keeper.

Paula Burgess had to go off for treatment after receiving a ball in the kidneys, but returned to double Bicester’s lead following a short-corner routine.

Bicester then allowed the hosts to claw one back.

After the break, Bicester turned up the pressure.

And it paid off when West made it 3-2, slamming the ball into the blackboard after a fine move.

Although Aylesbury cut the deficit, Bicester held on for victory.

Bicester 2nd fought back to draw 1-1 at home to Newbury & Thatcham in Division 2.

The visitors went ahead in the second half, but Charlotte Cochrane levelled after good work from Ashleigh Foote and Charlie Humphries.

Goals from Julie Giles (2), Louise Walker, Sarah Husband – her first for the club – helped Bicester 3rd to a 4-2 home win against Witney 3rd in Division 6.

Bicester men 2nd made it five wins out of six with a 4-2 success at West Hampstead 6th in MBB&O Division 5, with Jimmy Howson (2), Jason Crook and Ben Kirk – his 12th goal of the season – on target.

Bicester 3rd battled back from 4-1 down draw 4-4 at home to Eastcote 5th in Divi-sion 7.

Trailing 2-0, Will Hartley clawed one back only for the hosts to charge into a 4-1 lead.

But Hartley, with his second, and strikes from Steve Birtles and Chris Coleman secured a desserved share of the spoils.
