Lottie Wynne-Jones stormed to victory in three events as Bicester Blue Fins finished third in the second National Arena League Premier Division gala of the season at Worcester.

The result saw them rise to seventh in the standings, but they missed out on the top-six clubs final gala by a point.

Wynne-Jones started her success by winning the 11-year-old girls 50m backstroke, before taking the 50m butterfly by more than four seconds in a club age group record time.

She also secured the 13-year-old 100m butterfly, slicing two and half seconds off the club age group record.

Tom Thornley broke the club 100m backstroke record twice on his way to his two victories, in both the 15 year old and the open categories. He was also second in the boys’ 100m freestyle.

Fellow 15-year-old Kieran Bird won the boys’ 100m butterfly in an overall club record time of 59.21and the 100m breaststroke in a club age group record time.

Ellie Falkner triumphed in the 15-year-old girls 100m butterfly and set a new overall club record of 1min 6.92secs.

She was also victorious in the 15-year-old 100m freestyle.

William Whitley triumphed in the 13-year-old boys 100m breaststroke.

There were also wins for Oliver Inness, Whitley, Freddie Ashley-Sparks and Ben Inness in the 13-year-old boys 4x50m medley relay.

They also finished second in the freestyle relay.

Callum Laird, Kieran Bird, Josh Rowland and Tom Thornley were runners-up in the 15-year-old boys 4x50m freestyle relay in a club age group record time.

They missed out on second in the medley relay by only three hundreds of a second.

Thornley’s opening 50m backstroke leg set a new club record.

The 11-year-old girls 4x50m medley team of Alexandra Pluckrose, Maddy Powell, Lottie Wynne-Jones and Eveena Shah finished runners-up.
