ENTRIES have already started pouring in for the 2014 Oxfordshire Sports Awards.

Although the nomination process only opened last Friday, a host of people have wasted little time in putting forward individuals, clubs or teams who they feel have excelled in the past year.

The event, run by the Oxfordshire Sports Partnership, with the Oxford Mail as official media partners, has grown each year.

And it looks to be no different this time around.

“We have received more nominations at this stage than ever before,” said organiser Zoe O’Neill.

“Hopefully that bodes very well and we will continue to receive lots more during the course of the next three weeks.”

There are 11 categories, with the top three in each invited to a prestigious awards evening at the Kassam Stadium on Friday, November 28.

Last year, MotoGP rider Bradley Smith was sportsman of the year, with racing driver Alice Powell awarded the sportswoman accolade.
