FOOTBALL: Slade lose out in final
Mark Mortell headed the only goal of the game as Slade Farm United lost to Cropredy in the final of the Banbury District Lord Jersey FA Coronation Cup.
Mortell met an inswinging free-kick in the first half to power home for what turned out to be the winner.
Slade missed several opportunities to get back into the game, the best of which fell to Matthew Blenford, but he headed wide.
Slade continued to enjoy the better of the possession and territory after the break, but a resolute defensive display limited them to few clear cut chances as Cropredy held on.
Robbie Alexander hit a hat-trick as Slade Farm Res beat Heyford Ath Res 4-0.
An own goal made up their tally.
