FORMER Ardley United manager Peter Foley will be the guest of honour when they entertain Oxford United in the Oxfordshire Senior Cup semi-final next Wednesday (7.30).

Foley is an Oxford legend, having scored 90 goals in more than 300 games for the club between 1978 and 1984.

Before the game there will be a minute’s silence for another Oxford United legend, Cyril Beavon, who died recently and whose funeral will be held that day.

There is a big link with the Beavon family to both clubs.

Cyril having played over 400 times for Oxford, while his grandson Stuart was at Ardley for two years before the start of his successful Football League career.

He now plays for Coventry City.
