ORGANISATION will be key against an Oxford United side who are ‘easy on the eye’, says Doncaster Rovers manager Darren Ferguson.

The clash at the Kassam Stadium is the first meeting between the clubs for 13 years.

Rovers, promoted from League Two last season, are four points and seven places below the U’s and Ferguson is clear what to expect.

He told the Doncaster Free Press: “They’re a very good footballing team, a possession team who will try to play through the thirds.

“We’ll have to make sure we’re very well organised.

“They’ve got some very good individuals. The boy (Jack) Payne, who plays behind (Wes) Thomas, is very good.

"There’s a lot of good dribblers in the team, all of which we’ve been through with the lads.”

The Rovers boss has been impressed with United manager Pep Clotet since he was hired in July.

He said: “The games I’ve watched, they’re easy on the eye and an attractive footballing team.

“Many things they do, I can see in us so I think it’ll be a good football game.

“He’s gone in there and done a very good job, I think.

"He had to take over from Appy (Michael Appleton) who had done a good job there.

“Certainly I don’t think you can see too much difference.”
