OXFORD United’s trading model is based on selling one player per summer to continue strengthening the squad, according to Darryl Eales.

The U’s chairman was asked about star players being linked with a move away from the club during a Q&A session after last night’s AGM.

No firm bids have been made since the end of the season, but Eales, who agreed to seven-figure deals for Kemar Roofe and Callum O’Dowda last July, knows it is a distinct possibility.

Eales, who He said: “We plan on selling one player each summer as part of the player trading model and use the proceeds from that to strengthen the squad.

“I would be gutted if Ryan Ledson left because he’s got massive potential.

“Marvin Johnson is an interesting one, (head coach) Michael (Appleton) thinks he can go straight to the Premier League.”
