ARDLEY United boss Paul Davis has praised the contribution of Troy Bryan as his side seek to win some silverware in the last month of the season.
Although sitting a comfortable fifth in the Uhlsport Hellenic League Premier Division, Ardley’s best chance of glory lie in cup competitions.
Next Wednesday, they are at home to Lydney Town in the semi-finals of the league’s Perpetua Press Floodlit Cup, having accounted for high-flying Bracknell Town in the previous round.
One player who has shone in recent weeks has been Bryan.
Davis said: “Troy Bryan’s had a tough season with injuries but last week he came on and scored two great goals.
“He typifies what we are about, and we want to push on from here and win a cup, so our squad can celebrate something at the end of the season.”
If Ardley, who are without a league game for the second successive weekend, beat Lydney they will meet Brimscombe & Thrupp or Flackwell Heath in the final.
Meanwhile Bicester Town, who were also not in action last weekend, entertain Sandhurst Town in Division 1 East this Saturday.
