A RAPID 18-minute hat-trick from Elliott Powell helped Bicester Town to a commanding 6-3 victory away to local rivals Chinnor on Saturday.

Playing their first Uhlsport Hellenic League Division 1 East game of the year, the visitors came from behind to storm to victory,

They went 1-0 down after just eight minutes to a goal by Chinnor’s Tom Folley.

Danny Bone equalised in the 16th minute, but the hosts secured a 2-1 interval lead after Gary Marshall scored in the 38th minute.

Bicester took the game by the scruff of the neck in the second half, scoring five goals in the first 26 minutes.

Three of them came courtesy of Powell between the 49th and 67th minutes.

Rob Johnson and Cameron Macpherson joined in the goal spree as Bicester went 6-2 ahead.

Marshall added his second for Chinnor to complete the scoring.

Bicester will be hoping to maintain their scoring form when they visit bottom club Wantage Town Res on Saturday.
