BICESTER Town’s joint manager Eddie Nix was left rueing his side’s finishing after they were held 1-1 by visitors Wokingham & Emmbrook, writes Tom St John.

Both sides finished with ten men in a second successive draw for the Foxhunters, which leaves them three points behind the Uhlsport Hellenic League Division 1 East leaders Penn & Tylers Green.

Late headers from Jordan Weaver and Adam Garner missed the target, leaving Nix scratching his head at full time.

“We just created so many chances and I can’t believe we haven’t taken them,” he said.

“But I have no doubt we’ll be in the mix at the end of the season.

“Pound for pound, we’re the best team in the league.”

In a disjointed game, Wokingham’s Sam Lawrence and Bicester’s Gavin Kidd were sent off, the latter for two bookable offences.

After skipper Danny Bone and Garner wasted early chances, Bicester took the lead on 25 minutes when Kieran Scott side-footed home following a superb move.

Town never looked in danger, but they conceded an unlucky equaliser in the 68th minute.

Ben Findlay’s long-range shot deflected off Garner and found its way past keeper Joe White.

Town continued to create a host of chances, but could not make their dominance tell.

Bicester are without a game this Saturday, while Ardley United, who have had a free week, entertain Brimscombe & Thrupp in the Premier Division.
