BICESTER Town crashed out of the Uhlsport Hellenic League’s Bluefin Sports Supplementary Challenge Cup when they lost 4-1 at home to Wantage Town Res on Tuesday night.

Murray Nicholls gave them a first-half lead in the second-round tie.

However, Wantage Town Res came storming back after the break, hitting four goals without reply.

Bicester, whose game away to Rayners Lane last week in Division 1 East was postponed, meet Wantage Town Res again – this time away in the league – next Tuesday night.

  • Launton Sports bowed out of the Oxfordshire Charity Cup  when they lost 5-0 to West Witney.

Mike Duerden smashed a hat-trick to fire West Witney into the semi-finals, while Ian Sparkes and Seb White were also on target for the home side.
