Oakley United took over at the top of the Oxfordshire Senior League Premier Division with a 3-0 home win against Horspath on Tuesday.

They now head second-placed Oxford University Press, who were due to play last night, on goal difference with a game to go.

The midweek win saw them complete a quick double over Horspath, whom they beat 1-0 away last Saturday to keep their title hopes alive, thanks to a spectacular long-range strike from Ben Gray.

Charlton Res claimed only their third Division 2 win of the season with a 2-1 success at Oakley United Res.

Oli Stringer put the hosts ahead, but Charlton hit back after the break, levelling with an own goal from Josh Lingard before Leon Safroniou hit the winner.

Heyford Athletic added the Banbury Charity Cup to their Lord Jersey Cup to complete a double with a 1-0 win against Bishops Itchington.

Shaun Burningham scored the winner on 40 minutes.

Heyford Athletic Res came from behind to lift the Geoff Wilson Cup with a 3-1 victory against Steeple Aston Res in the final, thanks to goals from Joe Haynes (2) and Jason Dade.

Bicester Town Colts Stars won the Giles Sports Witney Youth Under 14 Knockout Cup with a 1-0 success against Eynsham Youth at Carterton Town.

Although Bicester bossed the game in the first half, it wasn’t until the 58th minute that they finally broke the deadlock.

And what a goal it was, Craig Lawson cracking in a superb left-foot shot from 20 yards.

Bicester then held out for victory.
