Ardley United completed their Uhlsport Hellenic League Premier Division campaign on a winning note with a 1-0 success at home to Highworth Town on Tuesday.

Victory confirmed a eighth-placed finish for Kevin Brock’s side.

The visitors dominated the first half, but failed to make it count and they paid the price on 55 minutes when Ardley scored the only goal.

Conor Ingram’s pass set Kieran Scott free on the edge of the box and he drove a shot past Highworth keeper Gary StevenArdley kept up the pressure, but were unable to add to their lead.

Meanwhile, Oakley United moved three points clear at the top of Oxfordshire Senior League Premier Division with a 4-1 win against Broughton & North Newington.

Strikes from Ryan Binnee, Mitch Meredith, Sean Coles and an own goal sealed victory for Oakley, with Aaron Lowey replying.

Ten-man Bletchingdon lost 7-0 to Oxford University Press.

Ben Strong (2), Sean Hurcombe (2), Neil Lockhart (2) and Craig Wharton did the damage following the early dismissal of Ashley Johnson.

Elsewhere, KEA 's double bid ended in a 4-2 penalty shoot-out defeat to Blackbird Rovers in the Oxfordshire John Fathers Junior Shield final at Kidlington after the game ended goalless.

The Banbury District & Lord Jersey FA Division 1 champions had chances to win the game inside 90 minutes, seeing one effort cleared off the line and another hit a post.

Heyford Athletic won the Jersey Cup with a 4-3 penalty win against Bishops Itchingdon after it ended 2-2.

Lee Clack and Dan Savin netted for Heyford, whose shoot-out scorers were Michael Philpott, Savin, Clack and Matthew Blenford.
