Oakley United opened up a nine-point lead at the top of the Oxfordshire Senior League Premier Division with a 5-1 win at home to Mansfield Road.

Kieron Schmidt and Shayne Almond claimed doubles, with Nick Gurney adding a fifth before Luis McGillycuddy’s late consolation from the penalty spot.

Strugglers Launton Sports had to settle for a 2-2 draw at Chalgrove.

Leading 2-1 with just seconds to go, it was looking good for the visitors, only for James Quainton to head a last-gasp equaliser for the ten-man hosts.

The hosts had goalkeeper Sam Eeles sent off before half-time, for bringing down Mark Scanes.

Launton twice led through Michael Fisher and Ben Dawe, but Nick Skiller and Quainton ensured the spoils were shared.

Ant Davidson’s brace helped Charlton United win 3-1 at North Oxford in Division 1.

Zac Blackman was also on target, with Leigh Paintin replying.

Premier Division Bletchingdon suffered a shock 2-1 defeat at home to Eynsham in the semi-finals of the Ben Turner Cup.

The Division 1 side led at the break via Neil Hobday’s finish, but they were pegged back on the hour through Piers McGlynn’s penalty.

Bletchingdon wasted several great chances and Ross Lewington made them pay four minutes from time when he headed in the winner.
