CRICKET: Arukgoda is star (From Bicester Advertiser)

Rasika Arukgoda took five wickets to help Westcott to a five-wicket victory against Radley in Division 3 of the OCA League.

Arukgoda claimed 5-44 as Radley were bowled out for 160, before Pete Smith (62) saw Westcott to 163-5.

In Division 4, Brill had to settle for third place, despite a four-wicket win at champions Combe.

Freddie Keys took 5-21 and Ian Smith 3-4 as Combe crashed to 78 all out.

Brill lost six wickets in their reply, but managed to reach the target.

In Division 7, Marsh Gibbon 2nd finished their season with a 62-run victory at Eynsham 2nd.

Pete Shipperley hit 90 and Ben Proctor 79 not out in Marsh Gibbon’s 244-5, before Eynsham were held to 182-9 in reply, Michael Timms taking 3-41.

Westbury 2nd crashed to a 101-run defeat against West Ilsley 2nd.

John Marston was the star of the show with bat and ball, hitting 50 in Ilsley’s 190-7, before capturing 4-10 as Westbury fell to 89 all out.

Division 3 Radley 160 (N King 38, R Arukgoda 5-44), Westcott 163-5 (P Smith 62, M Du Preez 3-24).

Division 4 Combe 78 (R Nicholson 40, F Keys 5-21, I Smith 3-4), Brill 79-6 (J Chaundy 3-23).

Division 7 Marsh Gibbon 2nd 244-5 (P Shipperley 90, B Proctor 79no), Eynsham 2nd 182-9 (P Garrett 37, M Timms 3-41).

West Ilsley 2nd 190-7 (J Marston 50, A Bloor 40, R Lawson 38no), Westbury 2nd 89 (N Blithe 33, J Marston 4-10, J Simmons 3-10).
