DANNY Clark made it ten wickets in two games as Bicester & North Oxford beat visitors Stokenchurch by 46 runs in Cherwell League Division 3.

The off-spinner, who claimed 4-35 in last week’s win over Minster Lovell, this time took 6-43 to turn the game on its head.

Chasing a victory target of 194, the visitors were favourites when Josh Triggs (54) and Ashley Hunt (49) took them to 102-2.

But Clark broke the stand, triggering a spectacular collapse that saw Stokenchurch lose their final eight wickets for just 45 to be all out for 147

Earlier, Bicester were indebted to Adam Stapleford (35) and Ryan Moore (33) for a rebuilding job after the loss of two early wickets.

However, they slipped to 105-5 before a vital 45 from Callum Doak, including three consecutive boundaries in one over off the otherwise excellent James Bramley, took them to

193-7.

Bicester, who travel to Cublington on Saturday, still share the lead with Oxford & Bletchingdon Nondescripts, who won by 34 runs in a low-scoring match away to Banbury 3rd.

After being bowled out for just 131, Nondies were indebted to a fine haul of 5-15 from Arfan Ahmed, supported by Ross Brown

(3-37), as they bowled the hosts out for 97.

Westbury had much the better of a draw at Leighton Buzzard to remain top of Division 2

The visitors rattled up

285-5 in their 53 overs thanks to Tom Wilson (87), Sam Harper (73) and Olly Tice (70).

Charlie Harper’s 4-58 led the way as Westbury chipped away at the hosts.

But they shut up shop to close on 179-8 to deny the visitors maximum points, Antony Francis top-scoring with 73 not out.

In Division 7, Bicester & North Oxford 2nd dominated Didcot 3rd but were unable to force the victory, settling instead for 20 points for a winning draw.

Bicester raced to 236-5, thanks to Will Irving (53), Haris Naeem (46) and Dan Murphy (45).

Didcot were never in the hunt and finished on 163-8, with Ryan McLaughlin taking 4-48.

Bicester & North Oxford 3rd slumped to an 83-run defeat at home to high-flying Dinton in Division 10.

Despite Owen Evans taking 6-62, the visitors scored 206-8.

Bicester were bowled out for 123, with seven balls left.
