WESTBURY returned to winning ways to close the gap on Cherwell League Division 3 leaders Wolverton to six points with a three-wicket victory at Oxford Downs 2nd.

Batting first, Downs were bowled out for 190 as Nick Rivett hit 52 and Graeme Coates 46.

Graham Judd claimed 5-34 and Richard Tredwell 3-45 for Westbury, who reached 192-7 with seven overs to spare to wrap up victory, Rivett taking 3-31 for the hosts.

Dave Clark’s unbeaten century proved Bicester & North Oxford’s downfall as Horley edged to a thrilling six-run victory.

The visitors opted to bat first and proceeded to 241-8 in their 50 overs as Clark struck a brilliant 104 not out, Dan Savin taking 4-57 for the home side.

Young Savin then shone with the bat, top-scoring with 90, but Bicester were bowled out for 235 with three balls remaining in an exciting finish.

Twyford secured a seven-wicket win over Horspath 2nd in Division 1.

Once again, the in-form Dominic O’Connor shone for Horspath, following up back-to-back league centuries with 84 as his side set 217-5 in their 50 overs.

But Shahid Mahmood (75), Adam Bone (43) and Atif Ali (42) made light work of the target as Twyford eased in at 219-3 with more than eight overs remaining.

In Division 2, basement boys Oxford & Bletchingdon Nondescripts crashed to an eight-wicket defeat at Buckingham Town.

James Gear took 5-8 as Nondies were shot out for 100 in 41 overs.

Buckingham wasted little time racing to 104-2 in the 17th over as Anthony Romaine hit 42 and Steve Beck 38 not out.

In Division 6, Rustam Rabani helped Oxford & Bletchingdon Nondescripts 2nd to a five-wicket win against visitors Great & Little Tew 3rd.

Rabani took 6-32 to skittle Tew for just 91, and then Nondies eased to 94-5 in the 26th over.
