THE heavy rain, which decimated the Cherwell League programme on Saturday, came to the rescue of Oxford & Bletchingdon Nondescripts in their Division 2 match at home to Sandford St Martin.
Nondies had been skittled for just 100 with Sandford’s Ollie Ong starring with the ball as he claimed 4-28.
The visitors were 27-1 after seven overs and heading for a likely victory when a heavy shower put paid to proceedings.
All the other league matches in the area were abandoned without a ball being bowled.
