TEN-MAN Marsh Gibbon were no match for early OCA League Division 2 leaders East & West Hendred as they fell to a fivewicket defeat on Saturday.

Sat Vadivale hit 85 not out to help Marsh to a respectable150-6.

But it never looked like being enough as Jon Francis hit 61 to see Hendred home on 153-5.

Westcott made it three wins from three in Division 3, courtesy of a three-wicket win at home to Fringford.

The visitors set 173-5 as Tony Burcham hit 57 not out.

But a patient 67 not out from Mark Strong saw the hosts to 175-7 and another victory.

Brill edged a thrilling clash at Britwell Salome by two runs to maintain their perfect start in Division 5.

Alex Eason (56) was the top scorer in Brill’s 131 all out, Ross Matthews taking 4-14 and Neil Lawrence 4-20.

In reply, Britwell’s David Coates hit 37, but they fell just short on 129 all out with Thomas Broughton the main destroyer with 4-26.

Chesterton are the early leaders in Division 9 after beating visitors Kennington 2nd by 130 runs.

Pete Talbot top-scored with 54 in Chesterton’s 226-8.

Then Dareen Trinder claimed 5-6 – his second consecutive five-wicket haul – as Kennington fell for 96.

Westcott 2nd cruised to a 117-run win at Hook Norton 2nd.

Nick Solway hit 52 and Philip Bateman 49 not out in Westcott’s impressive 222-5, before Pete Avery claimed 4-8 and Jim Forrest 3-12 as Hooky crashed to 105 all out.
